What if people lost faith in the system we all depend on? What if your electricity, food supplies, money and water were not reliable, or cut off. This is the reality many are awaking too. The vulnerability of an aging electrical grid, the unpredictable future of conflicts or the looming ecological disasters which we've already witnessed with the BP spill and Fukushima are knocking the point home. Should we be depending more on government? This is not to mention the government induced poisoning of the populace through the water supply, air and gmo's. The need for self sustainability will be the essence of struggle for the conscious citizens of the twenty first century. Cheap energy and renewable technologies are making it possible for any determined citizen to remove themselves from the grid, to grow their own food and capture their own water, to produce their own electricity and side step fiat currencies. What if all of used our ingenuity to create a better world, one person at a time? For know one can preach without doing, and if you believe in achieving self sustainability, self reliance and battling the corporate 'Empire' you best get at it! Independent Energy With solar flares on the increase, ice storms and tornadoes and an aging electrical grid, many of us are awaking to the utter vulnerability of our power dependence. What happens if the lights went out, for weeks? There is an increasing amount of options for the motivated Gaian. Solar and wind are the obvious, both having been reduced in price to be affordable the same as a fridge or stove. Often the batteries to store the power are just as expensive. Yet new energies are coming on the market including generators that use water and low-energy nuclear reactors like the Rossi e-cat or even get some exercise and use bicycle generators. Wouldn't it be great if each time you worked out you gave the batteries some juice. Cheap energy is essential for human civilization to continue to expand, we all must depend on our own sources in the end. |
